# Best Budget Cardio Equipment for Home Gyms (2026)

This guide starts from a budget ceiling rather than a "best overall" pick: what is worth considering if your ceiling sits in the $150–300 band rather than $700+? We looked at exercise bikes, rowing machines and ellipticals for models that sit inside a real budget price, not just the cheapest thing in each category. The finding: some categories are thin at this price, and we say so rather than padding a category to hit a round number.

## What "budget" means here, and why it isn't the same number in every category

We didn't set one dollar ceiling and force every category into it. The picks on this page fall into three different price bands, and a single ceiling would mean either excluding genuinely good budget bikes or including machines that aren't actually cheap. Instead, we used $75–150, $150–300 and $300–700 as the three budget bands for this guide, the same numeric ladder we use sitewide, and chose these picks inside those bands from products whose listing or maker page we could read.

Two categories are thin here. There is no treadmill: the walking pad we had listed was not available to buy when we checked in October 2026, and we did not complete a product-page check for a walking pad this round, so the category has no pick here. For every candidate we confirmed (1) it is a real product with a manufacturer or retailer product page we could read in our October 2026 check, not invented; (2) resistance type, weight capacity and dimensions, using only the figures recorded in our reads of that page and only where that page states them (our reads hold no dimensions for the YOSUDA 002 or the Sunny SF-E3872, and the YOSUDA's resistance type rests on its listing title); (3) a dated US CPSC recall search by brand name, run on October 19, 2026, covering the brands named here. Rankings rest on **documented manufacturer and retailer specifications**, **not hands-on testing by us**; we do not hands-on test equipment and every entry states its basis plainly.
